On Saturday, November 3, seventy-five people gathered to learn about Amish, Mennonite, and African American quilting traditions from Kyra Hicks and Janneken Smucker, as well as share their own quilt stories. Smucker reflects, “we had an embarrassment of riches, with dozens of participants bringing quilts—both ones they made and ones passed down from previous generations—and sharing brief stories. This event proved that every quilt has a story.”
