If distance or time make a visit impractical, we may be able to assist you in your research. If you are looking for information about a person, place or event, provide as much information as you can on the Research Request Form for each person, place, or event of interest and mail the form to the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society, Research Service, 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster, Pa., 17602-1499. We will conduct an initial search of the Society’s collections at the rate of $20.00 per hour for members and $30.00 per hour for non-members. Payment is due at the time that the request is submitted. Payment may be made by check/money order (payable to LMHS), or by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). If paying by credit card, please fill out the credit card information on the Research Request Form. These fees include up to fifteen photocopies per hour of research. Additional photocopies will be billed at $.50 per page (price includes postage and handling; minimum additional photocopy charge: $2.50), and an invoice will be sent along with the research report.

You may want to designate sources that you would like us to check. Please prioritize these by placing a "1," "2," etc. in the box following each source listed on the Research Request Form. If we have a source that you would like us to check that is not listed, write the name in the appropriate place on the form. A catalog of what is available in our library can be accessed at www.lmhs.org. If you are unsure of which sources would be best or if no desired sources are indicated on the form, we will choose the most likeliest sources to start.
