Arranged alphabetically by surname, these files consist of correspondence between researchers and staff, staff research reports, family Bible records, courthouse records, newspaper clippings, computer printouts, family group sheets, funeral cards, and other miscellaneous items of an original or photocopied nature pertaining to a given surname.

These folders, covering approximately a hundred linear feet of vertical file space on over three thousand different surnames, appear in the library and genealogical catalogs by surname and may be requested of staff.
